Jenny Louden is an Associate Professor and Director of Elementary Education at Southern Arkansas University with a deep expertise in literacy instruction. Jennifer is passionate about ensuring that future educators are not only well-prepared but also capable of making a significant impact on their K-12 students. She strongly believes in the benefits of practice-based coursework and emphasizes the importance of providing candidates with authentic teaching experiences.


In her role, Jennifer teaches literacy coursework and utilizes high-quality instructional materials to prepare her students for the classroom. She is committed to improving the quality of educational experiences for teacher candidates, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality, rigorous education in PK-12 settings.


As a certified reviewer of literacy and teacher education programs, Jennifer leverages her extensive knowledge to evaluate and enhance teacher preparation programs across the nation. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctorate in Curriculum Instruction and Assessment.


Outside of her professional life, Jennifer enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with her husband and four children.
